Medium and Long-Term operations aimed at private importing companies focus primarily on Brazilian exports of capital goods and/or services. These financing operations are subject to three main categories of risk: commercial, political, and extraordinary.
The analysis of this type of financing focuses mainly on the importing company’s (debtor) ability to meet its financial obligations. Various factors are considered, such as the sectoral and macroeconomic context in which the company operates, its historical accounting data, economic and financial indicators, and the risk assessment assigned by independent credit rating agencies. Registration information obtained through international credit networks and specialized external sources is also analyzed.
For political and extraordinary risk assessment, the macroeconomic, political, and institutional context of the importer’s country is examined, along with the sovereign risk rating assigned by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
